Stack's Commitment to Quality
Quality is built into our products and processes at Stack Plastics. Our quality assurance processes guarantee that the final product that you receive is built to specifications, within testing tolerances. A quality assurance plan is developed for each job that includes a first article inspection approval, customer specific run traveler, QC inspection, AQL sampling requirements and special packaging instructions. Quality is checked according to the quality assurance plan by our highly trained technicians. Finally, product is examined right in our shipping bay before the package is sealed and delivered.
ISO 9001:2000
Our quality assurance program meets all of the requirements for ISO 9001 certification. Stack Plastics was one of the first plastic injection molders in the area to be certified with the new ISO 9001:2000 standards.
Engineering and R&D support
Stack’s experienced staff will work directly with your R&D engineers to ensure that your specifications are accurately manufactured into our products. We routinely fabricate prototypes and short runs prior to production runs to check that design criteria are met.
Tooling
Stack works directly with several quality toolmakers, each with a variety of strengths and specialties. Whether you need a simple prototype mold in a week, a complex mold requiring hardened steel with intricate slides and inserts, or you need adjustments, repairs, or modifications to existing molds, Stack can deliver. Through our many projects, our toolmakers have been tested to insure that they meet our high standards. Based on price, turnaround time, complexity, and production quantity, we will select the right toolmaker for your job.
Scientific Molding Expertise
Scientific molding is very different
from traditional injection molding. In traditional injection molding, a mold is mounted in the machine and a part is shot with all of the settings at about 50%. Adjustments are made from this point without benefit of a methodical approach. Parts are made that look good, and an assumption is made that the structural integrity of the part will be at or near what it should be. Many molders use this process.
At Stack Plastics, we use Scientific Molding. We document and calculate, through our own programmed scientific molding analysis worksheet, all of the variables associated with making a part: Fill Time, Injection Pressure at Transfer, Intensification Ratio, Plastic Pressure, Shear Rate and, Relative Viscosity are determined in advance. Using Toshiba and Nissei, and JSW presses, we are able to control these variables to within extremely tight tolerances. Additionally, utilizing gate freeze analysis, pressure drop across the cavity, and various weights and measures, we are able to produce your part in the most efficient manner, which means faster turnaround time and lower cost to you.

Assembly in a Controlled Environment
Stack now offers assembly in a controlled environment capable of class 100,000 status. Additionally, we are pursuing a 13485 certification and hope to have that completed by the end of 2007.
Stack's Commitment to Giving Back
Stack Plastics is partnering with a number of Rotary Clubs in the
development, manufacturing and distribution of prosthetic hands in developing nations, particularly where there are many victims of landmines. Stack’s Vice President, Michael Mendonca, and his wife recently went to Vietnam and conducted the first test of the hand with great success.

Customer Testimonials
"... I would like to express my appreciation for the fantastic job you and your company Stack Plastics did for Seattle Medical Technologies. Your recommendation to us to use a mold flow analysis up front has proven to be invaluable! As you know the geometry and tolerance of our parts is pushing the traditional guide lines of molding. So to have stood in person with you beside your machine and watch the first parts to come off this complex precision mold and to be virtually spot on was amazing! I would like to also share with you and your team that the first few samples we took back with us where assembled and are producing some of the most accurate data we have seen thus far and as the chief designer I could be more pleased! Stack Plastics professional and analytical approach is second to none and I’m looking forward to working with you on future projects. "
Sincerely,
Brett J Carter
